About the business and the role

Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) is a world-class pilot training organisation that has operated since 1982 and provides customised aviation training solutions for the fixed-wing and rotary-wing industries.

FTA has two campuses. One is based at Parafield Airport in South Australia and conducts fixed- and rotary-wing training. The other is based at Wellcamp Airport in Queensland and conducts fixed-wing training only. FTAQ has a long-term contract to provide pilot training for the QANTAS pilot training academy.

Job Overview

FTA & FTAQ has an opening for an outstanding Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer—piston Engine/Airframes (B1.2) with a genuine love of aviation to join our Adelaide or Wellcamp Engineering Team.

Qualifications and Experience

All applicants are required to have general aviation maintenance experience and be able to demonstrate/provide evidence of the following :

Essential

Hold a B1.2 CASA Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.

CASA license for either/both engine and airframe categories.

Demonstrated ability to use their initiative to problem solve.

Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.

Experience with single and multi-engine piston aircraft.

Hold a valid Driver’s License.

Hold a valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) or be able to obtain one.

Must have unrestricted work rights in Australia.

Desirable

Composite Experience an advantage.

Pre-Employment assessment:

Locations

The location of the FTAQ campus from Wellcamp Airport is 3.7 km if walking.

The FTA campus is located at Parafield Airport.

The salary range is between $90,000 and $110,000, depending on qualifications and work location.
