The Lives Lived Well Coffs Harbour Youth Residential Rehabilitation Centre is a 24-hour residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation service for young people aged 13-18 years, who are involved with YJNSW and need support to address substance misuse and needs that relate to their offending. The service offers a calm and welcoming environment to young people and provides a holistic rehabilitation program.
We have 5-bed capacity made up of 4 beds in the residential part and on withdrawal bed. The 12-week program assists young people to make positive changes in their lives, including reducing AOD use, improving social and emotional wellbeing, and increasing life skills.
Your Opportunity
The service is supported by a multidisciplinary team including Treatment Facilitators, a Pre and Post Worker and Support Workers. We are currently looking for a Clinical Nurse Lead to join the team.
While you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be the sole nurse onsite, responsible for delivering nursing care to young people and providing clinical advice to other staff. As such, it is essential that you are confident and well-prepared to work autonomously in a standalone nursing role.
In this position, you will deliver high-level, specialist clinical nursing services to young people, and offer supervision, guidance, and consultative support to the broader multidisciplinary team. You will play a key role in ensuring holistic care and treatment, including leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive treatment and recovery program—from assessment through to discharge.
You will provide independent, accountable healthcare within the scope of Mental Health and/or Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) nursing practice. This includes developing detailed treatment plans, applying advanced assessment and diagnostic skills, and implementing and evaluating appropriate interventions and preventative health strategies for young people with complex needs. As a senior team member, you will also support the Clinical Services Manager with key operational aspects of the service and support broader service operations.
This is a permanent full-time role working 38 hours per week. The role pays between $53.04 - $56.73 per hour plus superannuation. You will also be eligible salary packaging up to $15,900 per year, plus an additional $2,650 in Entertainment and Accommodation benefits.
What We Are Looking For
As a qualified Registered Nurse, you will have a strong background, or interest in, AOD and Mental Health, and a commitment to supporting young people dealing with these challenges.

- Extensive and proven experience in the provision of client-centred nursing care, working with individuals with complex problematic alcohol and substance use and/or mental health issues.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain empathy and compassion when working with young people experiencing symptoms and behaviours associated with AOD use, mental health problems, experience of trauma, or cognitive impairment, or a combination of these.
