The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. A new role awaits
Are you looking for an exciting and rewarding career opportunity where you can play an integral role in providing in-house video production services of NDIS digital content? The Media Branch is seeking APS5 Video Producer professionals to join the NDIA as part of the Digital Media team.
We are seeking passionate and creative digital video professionals who can leverage their in-depth understanding and experience in operating broadcast quality equipment in the field and in studio environments, to deliver digital video and imagery for social media audiences. You will have an understanding of video and editing trends, with advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop. You will have a passion for delivering best practice, inclusive and accessible communication, embodying the NDIA values and fostering a positive, participant-centered culture.
The Media Branch is responsible for engaging with the community through media, social media, digital media and events, to support participants, providers, and the broader community to understand and navigate the NDIS. The Branch comprises 3 teams: Digital Media, Media/ Ministerial, and Events. The Digital Media team and is responsible for developing video products, crafting video strategies and producing rich media content for a variety of channels and platforms. The team plays a crucial role in delivering important information to NDIS participants, building awareness and education, and driving engagement through its digital platforms.

As a APS5 Video Producer, you will play an integral role in providing in-house video production services - managing the filming, editing and delivery of NDIS digital content, under the direction of the senior team members. You will also contribute to the planning and development of this content with business areas. The role requires a mix of creativity, technical skills and a passion for digital media, with the ability to develop strong networks and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Produce video content in accordance with the NDIS Video Style and Brand Guidelines, for distribution across a range of digital platforms – with particular focus on content creation for the Agency’s social media channels
- Manage technical production requirements including camera operation, lighting and sound recording
- Create video briefs, and organise and direct shoots including interviewing NDIS participants, staff and members of the public
- Complete post-production tasks including video editing (Adobe Premiere Pro), motion graphics (Adobe After Effects), colour grading, media encoding and platform delivery
- Be available to travel locally and interstate on occasion for video production projects.

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about digital media, with high level competency of IT systems, and in-depth knowledge of video data workflows. You will have a demonstrated understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2, visual accessibility requirements, with a proven ability to provide sound advice to support technical, policy and operational communications activities.

Due to operational requirements, this role is located at VIC - Geelong, or at VIC - Richmond with the understanding that travel to VIC - Geelong office is required, sometimes on short notice. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
