This role is open to applicants who identify as Aboriginal only. About the Role
We currently have two Caseworker vacancies in our Permanency Support Program (PSP). As a Caseworker, you’ll be hands-on in making sure Aboriginal children and young people in out-of-home care are safe, supported, and connected to culture. You’ll work alongside Carers, birth families, and government stakeholders to guide meaningful and culturally responsive care plans.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of Aboriginal children and young people
Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with key stakeholders
Maintain consistent contact with children, young people, and Carers
Complete reporting and documentation (e.g., S149 and S163 reports)
Supervise contact between children and their birth families
Participate in on-call rotations as required
Requirements
Must identify as Aboriginal
Working With Children Check
National Criminal History Check
NSW Driver’s Licence (minimum P2)
Skills and Experience
Experience in Out of Home Care or child protection work
Sound knowledge of issues facing Aboriginal children, families, and communities
Cultural sensitivity and a trauma-informed approach
Confidence in engaging families experiencing complex challenges
Strong communication and documentation skills
Commitment to working flexibly across Sydney as needed
