Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre (MECC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Client Services Team Leader to join our team.

About this opportunity:

This role is pivotal in leading the Client Services team to provide exceptional service to both internal MECC teams and external clients. The successful candidate will ensure the seamless planning, concierge, and settlement services for events at MECC and associated venues, aligning with our service level expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Client Services team to provide high-level concierge services, aligning with MECC Service Standards and venue programming priorities
  • Assign, delegate, and document all event requirements, ensuring alignment with the MECC Bookings Workflow
  • Consult with clients to determine event details and support the coordinator with professional business practices to achieve sales performance targets
  • Progress the use of event booking software and support the integration of technology to continuously improve services
  • Produce accurate event documentation from enquiry stage to event settlement
  • Foster strong communication and relationships between the Client Services team and internal MECC and MRC teams
  • Support the analysis and evaluation of processes to ensure effective integration of administrative and financial systems
  • Assist in developing a range of products and services to maximise revenue and achieve a competitive position in the local, national and international Meetings, Incentives, Convention and Entertainment (MICE) industry

Special Requirements:

  • Some out-of-hours work and domestic travel is expected.
  • Flexibility with working hours in accordance with the requirements of the Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Qualification in Business, Event Management, or a related field.
  • QLD "C" Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent.
  • Experience in events, hospitality, or client services, preferably at a supervisory level
  • Proficient in corporate systems and Microsoft Office products
  • Familiarity with event software like Momentus, TicketSearch, Event Draw, or Conference Monitor
  • Strong time management, resource allocation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead a team, meet deadlines, and drive efficiency
  • Knowledge of contract, settlement, and invoicing processes
  • Understanding of internal finance systems and their integration
