DESF employs support staff to provide Western Australia Support Providers various support services from administration to disability support.

JOB PURPOSE
This position is responsible for ensuring all Participant support, compliance & documentation requirements are met, and the services provided are in-line with the Provider’s Policy and Procedures & the Disability Services Act 1993.
The specific objectives of this role:
- To support the Provider in their delivery of services to eligible NDIS Participants ensuring they have opportunities to develop and maintain a valued lifestyle as per their individual plan.
- Day to day operations that assist the Provider’s Service Director & Service Coordinator in the ongoing and developing care and support outcomes, through the provision of SIL supports along with the efficient operation of the SDA homes.
Job Role listed below but not limited to:
- Establish effective communications with all stakeholders, ensuring privacy & confidentiality
- Identify and record deficiencies in tasks, reporting these to Service Manager
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Service provision & supporting workers
- Provide leadership and where applicable mentoring to Support Workers.
- Manage Support Worker communications.
- Ensuring Support Worker documentation is completed and submitted as required i.e., daily, monthly.
- When required, cover a shift, and provide supports to Participants as per their plan.
Manage Restrictive Practices
- Ensure Support Workers provide effective supports without employing unsanctioned restrictive practices.
- Identify any restrictive practices and report to (The Employer) Positive Behavior Support Panel.
Co-ordinate administrative tasks for, but not limited to:
- Progress notes, assessments
- Communication books
- Support Logs
- Medication forms, plans and charts
- Emails, incl. ONCALL.
- Company vehicle use
- Monthly reports – Keyworker, WHS.
- Regular Participant documentation reviews
- Coordinating house operations
- Authorise the food / supplies orders for each house on a weekly basis.
- Ensure workers are meeting the expectation of their role.
- Monitor Participants for changes in health and support requirements, ensuring any changes are reported to the Provider’s Service Co-ordinator and/or Service Manager
- Carrying out spot checks on the condition and cleanliness of houses and company vehicles.
- Oversee the processing of all receipts, credit card expenses and food orders, before forwarding to accounts.
- Monitor and reconcile house petty cash monthly or as required.
Essential:
- Minimum Cert III or IV in Individual Support
- Understanding of Restrictive Practices
- Preferred Mental Health qualifications or experience
- Experience working with providing daily supports
- Demonstrated capability in carrying out tasks for a growing organisation
- Effective and excellent communication, interpersonal & time management skills
- Ability to problem solve, prioritise, and complete work related tasks
- Ability to establish effective and professional working relationships with others
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Skills applicable to implementing new work practices
- Skills applicable to recording and managing data, information
- Ability to manage and direct care staff within the ethos of the client
- Understanding of Policies and Procedures & Continuous Improvement
- Ensuring Work Health & Safety principles are applied it in the workplace
- Competent skills working with Microsoft Office
- Aptitude in learning new computer software packages
- Current WA Drivers Licence
Flexibility and Other Duties
DESF is a rapidly growing and developing enterprise. As such employee’s roles and responsibilities are expected to develop along with the company.
This position may be required to complete other reasonable duties from time to time deemed commensurate with the skills, capability and experience expected within this role.
This position comes with the use of a Company vehicle and salary sacrificing.
