About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the day-to-day operations of our packing shed, focusing on the safe and efficient handling of goods during receival and dispatch. The successful applicant will work closely with both the Packing Shed Manager and Farming Manager to ensure all loading and unloading processes run smoothly and are documented accurately.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday (38 hours) with regular Friday overtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Follow all Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental procedures

Perform pre-start checks and maintain correct use of PPE

Report any machinery or equipment issues promptly

Operate forklifts safely and efficiently

Manage all farm receivals and dispatches

Transport goods carefully to avoid damage

Wrap and prepare pallets for cold storage or transport

Liaise with management to coordinate loading requirements

Ensure accurate labelling and stacking of cartons and pallets

Maintain accurate records of dispatches and receivals

Complete and verify dispatch paperwork and consignment details

Monitor cold rooms and ensure a clean, organised work environment

Carry out routine services and minor repairs to the item of plant being operated in consultation with the Workshop Supervisor

Stocktake and management of all packing materials

Skills and Experience:

LF Forklift - High Risk Work Licence

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks reliably

Willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities

Team-oriented with a positive attitude

Prior experience in a similar role, desirable

Valid car driver's licence

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and data entry ability
