The organisation

As in house lawyer for this international NFP, you will provide legal advice, support and assistance with case management of claims of institutional abuse throughout Australia.

In this role you will be responsible for the management of historical and current complaints.

The role will suit a junior lawyer with experience in plaintiff or defendant personal injury, property damage or public liability, dispute resolution or civil litigation. Experience dealing with institutional abuse law will obviously be highly regarded.

Your role

• liaising with key stakeholders including insurers & legal firms
• preparation of briefing advice and files for mediation and settlement conferences
• preparation of Deeds of Release and settlement documentation
• attendance at settlement conferences

About you

• 1-3 years' PAE in insurance or litigation
• a desire to be an integral member of a strong, cohesive and down to earth team
• ability to manage deadlines
• strong attention to detail
• practical and client focused problem solving and research skills
• ability to relate to people at all levels and effectively work in a team
