This is for a Permanent Part Time or Fixed Part Time appointment at 64 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist in Community Health to join the Midwest team.
To be successful, you will have...
- A postgraduate qualification in child and community health.
- Advanced interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills in a multidisciplinary team.
- Clinical knowledge and skills in the area of Community Health.
- Knowledge and skills in the Principles of Primary Health Care, Determinants of Health and family centred practice.
- Extensive knowledge of best practice principles and quality improvement activities.
- Eligible for / or in possession of a current C or C-A Class drivers licence.
- Understanding of Aboriginal and multicultural health issues.
- Experience in working in a rural or remote environment.
Position Profile: The Clinical Nurse Specialist – Community Health is responsible for the coordination of primary health care for vulnerable children and families within the community setting;
- collaborates and advocates with key stakeholders within and outside the region.
- Collects data and prepares reports for specific child health projects.
- Acts as a role model and consultant to nurses and other health service providers providing knowledge, clinical expertise and best practice within area of responsibility.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at eligible locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months. Area Profile
The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Midwest health region of Western Australia covers more than 470,000 square kilometres, nearly one fifth of the State, with its population concentrated along the coast. The region is located in the northern middle section of Western Australia and incorporates three health districts - Gascoyne, Geraldton, Midwest and Murchison, is recognised for its unique natural environment and is a culturally diverse region with Aboriginal people representing 13% of the overall population.
