About the Role

Mobile Plant Mechanic – Dewatering and Pump Asset, you are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of diesel-powered mobile equipment and dewatering pump systems used in mining and industrial operations. This role ensures the availability, reliability, and safe operation of dewatering assets and associated mobile plant machinery in compliance with OEM specifications, company policies, and site safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Repair & Maintenance: Diagnose and repair mobile plant equipment including vehicles, pumps, generators, and trailers.

· Mechanical Systems Expertise: Overhaul engines, drivetrains, hydraulic, braking, and auto electrical systems.

· Field Service Support: Provide on-site troubleshooting, breakdown response, and equipment mobilisation across project sites.

· Dewatering Systems: Maintain and repair dewatering pipework, pumps, and related systems.

· Technical Diagnostics: Use diagnostic software and tools to resolve complex mechanical and electrical faults.

· Quality & Compliance: Ensure all work meets safety, compliance, and manufacturer standards.

· Parts & Inventory Management: Manage tools, parts, and workshop equipment for efficient operations.

About you

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Qualifications & Experience

Trade qualification as a Diesel Motor Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Certificate III or higher).

2-5 years of experience in mechanical work, preferably in pump or engine systems

Australia C class driver’s license.

Skills & Attributes

Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding expertise

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols

Licenses & Certifications

MR/HR Rigid Driver’s License

High-Risk Work License (LF, WP, CN, DG)

Working at Heights, confined space (advantageous)

Mobile Plant Tickets - Excavator, Loader, Tele handler, forklift (Advantageous)

Construction Industry OHS White card (advantageous)

Pre-Employment Requirements

· National Police Clearance

· Pre-employment medical & drug/alcohol screening
