Plant Mechanic Technician - Leading Hand/Supervisor
Perth Full time, Week: 6:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday
Full-time AL, SL, LSL. Industry Super.
EOFY Bonus system, starting at extra two weeks pay paid each June.
Vermeer Equipment of WA & NT is currently seeking experienced Leading Hand / Workshop Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This is a retail customer-facing workshop, you will be dealing with the public, and repairing customer-owned equipment.
As the Workshop Leading Hand / Supervisor, your key responsibility will be to oversee the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring the efficient delivery of maintenance and repair services for surface mining, horizontal drills, vacuum excavators, and environmental equipment. This role is hands-on, involving leadership of a small team, while also encompassing supervisory, training, safety, and administrative responsibilities, in addition to regular client communication. To qualify for this position, applicants must have experience and demonstrate competence in the following areas:
-Supervising and coordinating the workshop team.
-Liaising with clients to understand their maintenance needs.
-Oversight of the maintenance, repair, and servicing of various mobile plant equipment.
-Ensuring all tasks are completed promptly and cost-effectively, in compliance with OEM service standards.
-Collaborating closely with the service manager and covering the role during their absence.
-Mentoring and training junior team members to promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
-Assisting with inventory management, tools, and workshop resources.
-Working with the broader team to identify and implement process improvements
Please note this is *not a FIFO role*, based in Perth based 10 day fortnight 6:30am to 4pm. With infrequent non-rostered Field Service requirements throughout Northern Territory and NW & SW Western Australia.
What you will need to have to succeed in this position:
Must hold a Trade Certificate III.
LV Mechanic with demonstrated mobile plant experience
Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical Fitter with mobile plant experience
Mobile Plant Tech.
Hydraulic CAN Bus mobile plant experience.
Must have valid Australian work rights.
Flexibility in lifestyle for non-rostered field service works.
Preferably valid Medium Ridged Australian manual driver’s licence
Current forklift ticket
Display an exceptional quality of workmanship, reliability and efficiency
Strong communication and leadership skills
A positive attitude
