Protech is seeking a Open-Pit Mine Geologist for our client who is a growing gold producer listed on the ASX. Our client operates both established and emerging assets at their Gold Project down south in WA, which features a newly completed processing plant. This role will be on a FIFO basis - 8:6 roster.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Start Date (Early June)
• Full-Time / Permanent position
• 12-hour days / FIFO 8:6 from Perth
• Site and Travel Allowance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• You will be reporting to the Senior Open-Pit Mine Geologist
• Oversee stockpile management and conduct daily tracking, reconciliation, and validation of mined material
• Perform geological mapping of pit walls and RC chip sampling in a safe and compliant manner.
• Plan and manage RC-GC drilling programs for ore delineation, including detailed geological logging.
• Build, update, and maintain 3D geological models using data from pit mapping and chip logging.
• Design ore blocks to optimize ore extraction efficiency post-blasting.
• Apply blast movement monitoring techniques to enhance ore recovery accuracy.
• Ensure timely management, validation, and integration of drillhole and ore production data.
• Collaborate closely with the mining team to maximize ore recovery and reduce dilution.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise graduate geologists and geological technicians.

TICKETS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor of Science (Geology)
• Experience with mining and geology software packages such as DATAMINE (REQUIRED) and LEAPFROG (DESIRED)
• Prior experience in an open-pit environment (REQUIRED)
• Proven expertise in mine geology within gold operations
• Demonstrated leadership and team supervision experience
• Preferably at least 2-3 years of experience within a Open-Pit Mine Geologist position
