About the Role

An opportunity exists for an experienced Geologist at the Greenbushes site to join the Geology team. The role requires a tertiary qualification in this field.

The goal of the Geology team is to achieve a 500Mt resource from the lease holding surrounding the Greenbushes Operations by 2026. There are multiple near mine prospects that will be progressed to achieve this goal.

This is a residential role on an 8:6 roster working a nominal 38.1 hour-week. A competitive salary ($135,000-$140,000) and other benefits will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Responsibilities include:

· attend department PSI meeting and daily mining meeting as required;

· monitor mining contractor excavation activities including visual ROM pad assessment, haulage data validation, daily stock sheet to track ROM stocks and communicate geology requirements;

· provide geological support to mining contractor and Talison Technical Services including recording geological maps of blast patterns, mining dig plans and block grade estimates, mark up of ore blasts for excavation and updating entries in fleet management system;

· drill programme design and execution;

· attend weekly ore management meetings and provide information on expected ore quality;

· maintain and generate block models for stockpiles and grade control models;

· sampling and logging of blast holes and RCGC holes and uploading blast hole and RCGC data into Acquire;

· planning and design of RCGC investigations for potentially reactive ground, including sample management, logging, preparation of maps and plans, execution and liaising with Contractors and other stakeholders, assessing data and designating test work and all other related logistics and duties to complete program(s);

· carry out QAQC checks and reporting and act on irregularities; and

· order and maintain geological equipment and stores.

About the Candidate

· a tertiary qualification in Geology;

· current ‘C’ class Drivers Licence;

· an understanding of drilling practices and QAQC of drilling practices; and

· IT literate with emphasis on mining industry software.
