About the role

Newcastle Family Practice is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team in Newcastle, NSW. This is a casual position, providing you with the flexibility to balance your work and personal life. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting our General Practitioners in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to our diverse community.

What you'll be doing

Assisting General Practitioners with medical examinations, treatments, and minor procedures

Providing nursing care, including wound management, immunisations, and health assessments

Managing patient records and ensuring accurate documentation

Coordinating and conducting patient appointments, including triage and follow-up

Implementing and maintaining infection control protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment

Offering health education and promotion to patients on a range of medical conditions

Collaborating with the wider healthcare team to provide holistic, patient-centred care

What we're looking for

Registered Nurse (Division 1) with a current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration

Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based nursing practices

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, General Practitioners, and the wider healthcare team

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Proficient in the use of medical software and electronic patient records

Commitment to continuous professional development and a focus on providing high-quality, patient-centred care
