Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Junior Plumber to join the Engineering Department
About Northern Health:
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our five main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.
Rotation across all Northern Health sites.
About the role:
This role requires a qualified Junior plumber with:
- 1-3 years post trade experience.
The Plumbing Junior/Plumber is responsible for some of the following maintenance tasks as listed below (please see Position Description for more detail):
- Co-ordinate and supervise repairs and planned maintenance plumbing works, scheduled and breakdown on plant, equipment, sewer, buildings and fixtures.
- Be prepared to be part of an on-call roster or recall to cover after hours, weekend and public holidays and be able to attend the Northern Health properties during emergencies breakdowns. Rotation included
- Co-ordinate and supervise other Maintenance Service providers and/or contractors in the day to day performance of duties. (Plumbing only).
- Be prepared to be rostered on day & night works
- Assist in the briefing, quality control and supervision of work done by contractors involved in repairs, maintenance, testing and installation of plumbing works.
- Ensure all works done is recorded and information updated in the Engineering Maintenance Management System. (Asset Plus)
- Carry out regular maintenance inspections of all plant and equipment and arrange for minor alterations, modifications as required.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience and good working knowledge of commercial and domestic plumbing Systems
- Proven ability to Fault find systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team and also work alone as required.
- Must be able to take direction from the Senior Plumber when required.
