Civil Litigation Paralegal
TFR Lawyers have an excellent opportunity for a Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our CBD practice providing support to our Civil Litigation department in a part-time or full-time capacity.
The Role:
The Civil Litigation Paralegal provides comprehensive support to legal practitioners engaged in dispute resolution and litigation matters. This role is essential to preparing documentation, liaising with courts and clients, file management, and monitoring compliance with deadlines and court procedures predominately in the Tasmanian jurisdiction.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the management of litigation files including maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and correspondence.
Monitor court dates, deadlines, and timetables; assist with internal file management and scheduling.
Assist in the accurate preparation and filing of legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, subpoenas, discovery lists, and court forms.
Support legal practitioners during trials, mediations, and settlement conferences.
Liaise with clients, barristers, witnesses, and experts to coordinate appointments and gather information.
Maintain confidentiality and always adhere to legal ethics and firm policies.
About You:
2 years’ minimum experience in a civil litigation or similar paralegal role preferred.
Certificate IV in Legal Services or Diploma of Paralegal Studies desirable.
Understanding of civil procedure rules and litigation processes.
High level of accuracy in document preparation and data entry.
Excellent plain English verbal and written communication.
Organised with attention to detail, a proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems desirable.
