HenderCare is seeking a passionate and dedicated Core or Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our collaborated Allied health team.
In this role you’ll deliver professional, person-centred assessment and therapy to support skill development, promote independence, and enhance quality of life for people living with disability.
About the Role
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will apply a holistic and person-centred approach to provide therapeutic supports, with a strong focus on improving quality of life and reducing and eliminating restrictive practices in home and community settings.
Other duties you will be responsible for include:
Conducting assessments to identify the root causes of behaviours of concern and developing effective strategies to improve participant outcomes.
Designing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans that are evidence-based and tailored to each participant
Provide training, modelling, and coaching to families, support workers and other key stakeholders to build their capacity and ensure consistent and effective implementation of support strategies.
Collect and analyse data to monitor the effectiveness of support plans making adjustments as needed.
Maintaining detailed knowledge of the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework and associated regulatory and legislative requirements.
Providing ongoing, face-to-face implementation of PBS plans, including regular contact and collaboration with stakeholders and other allied health.

About You
You are a values-driven innovative professional who is passionate about supporting people living with disability to achieve their goals and live as independently as possible. You will bring strong planning, implementation, and evaluation skills, and are committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support using positive behaviour support principles.
Essential Criteria:
Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or another relevant allied health area
A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in providing Positive Behaviour Support.
Eligibility to work as a Core or Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner under the NDIS Commission.
Proven ability to work with clients with complex needs, including intellectual disability and challenging behaviours, and apply person-centred practices.
Strong understanding and application of the NDIS PBS Capability Framework.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including with the Microsoft 365 suite with the ability to engage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills, the ability to take initiative, and the effective management of competing priorities.
