Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Trade Assistant to assist our electricians with solar and electrical installations. In this role, you will support the team with various tasks on-site, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. For the right candidate, this position offers opportunities for career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with solar panel and battery installations, including mounting rails, handling equipment, and securing components.
• Perform general on-site duties such as unloading deliveries, setting up, packing down, and maintaining a clean work environment.
• Follow and enforce safety protocols and assist with documenting SWMS, JSAs, and risk assessments.
• Capture site documentation (photos and notes) to record progress.
• Collaborate closely with the team to ensure efficient project completion.

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:

• Construction White Card.
• First Aid & CPR certifications.
• Previous experience in solar, electrical, roofing, or construction work.
• Basic proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Strong commitment to safety and a proactive approach to risk management.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to various job sites around Canberra and surrounding regions.

Desirable:

• Working at Heights certification.
• EWP (Elevated Work Platform) licence.
• Forklift licence.
• Awareness training for asbestos, chemicals, and silica.
