Full-time or Part-time Role - Environmental Field Officer, Bush Regenerator – Central Queensland Location
Work will be based predominantly out of Biloela, it may also be in the Gladstone & Rockhampton Areas.

Ausecology has a position an Offsets Environmental Field Officer for the right person interested in large-scale conservation projects across multiple locations in Central QLD including Biloela, Rockhampton & Gladstone areas.
You will gain experience and training on upcoming large projects focused on Biodiversity Offsets. As Offset Environmental Field Officer with Ausecology, you will work with industry specialists and develop your skills as an environmental practitioner by working alongside our experienced team.

Ausecology is an ecology, rehabilitation, bush regeneration and environmental offset specialist. We provide efficient, practical and high-quality environmental outcomes for clients. We are passionate about the environment and about the people we work with.
We have roles available with up to 38 hours a week availability. Ideally, we are looking for staff for full-time roles on rotating rosters however we are happy to accommodate casual or part-time positions for the right candidate.
The roles are available across the greater Central Queensland area including Rockhampton/Biloela/Gladstone. There may also be the opportunity to participate in projects further afield in South East Qld, with travel, accommodation and food provided at our expense.
There is the potential for work on mine sites which may include coal board medicals and drug screening.
There are opportunities to add to your transferable skill base such as chainsaw use, brush cutting, burn preparation, planting, 4WD, trailers, and ecological burn-related activities. Does this sound like something you would love to be a part of?
About you:

Role and Key Responsibilities:
Assist in carrying out ecological restoration projects, tasks will include brushcutting, weed control, large scale planting & burn preparation
Be a genuine hard-working and dedicated person who takes pride in their work, with a passion improving the natural environment
Transferrable skills from other industries such as laboring, landscaping etc
Listens to instructions and carries out tasks to completion
Follow field manual protocols, quality assurance and safety procedures
Actively seek opportunities for self development and training
Participate in training activities
Complete and submit all HSE forms as they pertain to your project work
Skills and experience:
Ideal candidates will have:
Some experience in fieldwork, bush regeneration, natural area technician, land conservation, landscape laboring, brushcutting or planting
Desire to upskill and take on training
Conservation and Land/Ecosystem Management (Natural Area Restoration) Cert III qualification or similar area or practical infield experience or the desire to work towards achieving these qualifications
Current manual driver's licence
The following skills would be highly regarded:
Possess or interest in gaining plant identification skills – native and exotic across a range of ecosystem types
Conservation and Land/Ecosystem Management (Natural Area Restoration) qualification or similar area or practical infield experience
Large scale planting experience
ACDC Licence
Chemical application for weed control
Tool maintenance
Chainsaw cross-cut and felling
4WD and trailer experience
Ecological burn experience
First & CPR certificate
Remote area (rural) work
