$37.16 - $40.05 per hour

Derby Street Children’s Centre is a not-for-profit community based Early Learning Centre and Kindergarten, where our focus is on providing quality learning programs and stimulating environments for children, while maintaining excellent working conditions for employees.

The centre has just recently completed a major expansion, with extra rooms and facilities for the children, creating additional job opportunities within the service. We require passionate and driven Qualified Early Childhood Educators, to fill Full Time positions working a 9-day fortnight, Part Time and Casual positions.

The centre also closes for approximately three weeks over the end-of-year holiday period.

Opportunities currently exist and are encouraged for professional growth and development within DSCC.

The centre offers various leadership roles within the service such as:

Specialist teacher for under 1, 2 and 3 year olds

Outdoor program leaders for under 2, 3 and 5 year olds

Educators must be able to work in a team environment with strong interpersonal and leadership skills. You must have the ability to create learning environments that are educational, challenging and inspiring for children of all ages.

Successful applicants must have:

Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

A deep knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

A passion for Early Childhood Education

The ability to plan for and implement challenging learning experiences

Up to date training in First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma and a current and valid Police Check and Working with Children Check.
