Alchemy Recruitment is seeking a Mining Engineer to take on the role of Backfill & Ventilation Engineer at a well-established and stable underground mine. This role will require relocation to Tasmania.

One of the leading producers in its field; this mine is currently investing in long-term infrastructure upgrades focused on improving safety, sustainability, and operational performance.

About the role:
In this position, you will report directly to the Technical Services Superintendent and work alongside a collaborative and experienced Technical Services team. Specifically, you will:

• Design, maintain, and optimise ventilation systems including exhaust and fresh air intake infrastructure.
• Manage and enhance paste fill operations including underground reticulation systems.
• Contribute to the design and execution of CRF, LRF, and paste backfill solutions.
• Support major infrastructure projects including ventilation upgrades and paste system expansions.
• Work on a back-to-back roster with another engineer in a dynamic and improvement-focused team.

What we're looking for:

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in underground hard rock mining (preferably in ventilation and/or backfill engineering)
• A safety-first mindset and strong communication skills
• Exposure to software such as Deswik and VentSim (highly regarded)
• Willingness to collaborate, innovate, and grow within a high-performing team
