ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a proactive and commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our legal team and play a key role in supporting our Australian and New Zealand operations. This position is central to the day-to-day legal needs of the business and will work closely with stakeholders across a wide range of areas — from tenders and transactions to sourcing, disputes, regulatory, funding, and marketing matters.
You will make an impact through:
Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts while providing strategic legal advice to ensure alignment with business objectives and risk appetite.
Regulatory Compliance: Monitor regulatory changes and provide clear, practical advice to ensure ongoing legal compliance across the business.
Legal Disputes & Risk Management:. Manage legal disputes and litigation while assessing risks and advising on strategies to mitigate potential legal issues.
Corporate Governance & Compliance: Advise on corporate governance and support compliance programs to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and internal policies while mitigating legal risks.
General Legal Support: Provide legal advice on matters such as IP, data protection, privacy, and marketing, while supporting the development and review of policies and documentation to ensure legal compliance.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will present with the following background and skills:
Hold a Law Degree coupled with a current Australia legal practitioner’s practicing certificate
Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience gained in a major law firm and/or in-house role
Provide accurate, commercially focused, and timely legal advice, supported by excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrate strong commercial acumen and business insight, with proven expertise in drafting and negotiation
Thrive in collaborative environments and contribute effectively as a reliable and proactive team player
