Partner with business leaders to shape our commercial direction, while mentoring junior lawyers. As Senior Legal Counsel, reporting to the Senior General Counsel, you'll be a trusted advisor, handling complex commercial agreements, ensuring compliance, and mitigating risks.
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will be partnering with business leaders to shape our commercial direction, while mentoring junior lawyers. Reporting to the Senior General Counsel, you'll be a trusted advisor, handling complex commercial agreements, ensuring compliance ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and proactively identifying and mitigating legal risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a variety of commercial contracts
- Providing proactive legal advice to internal stakeholders on commercial law matters, ensuring business initiatives are legally sound.
- Identifying and analysing legal risks and developing effective strategies to mitigate them.
- Keeping abreast of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry developments.
- Developing and implementing internal legal policies and procedures.
- Managing and instructing external counsel when necessary.
- Providing legal training to internal teams as required.
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualified lawyer with 5+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE)
- Demonstrable experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of complex commercial agreements.
- Excellent knowledge of contract law and commercial law.
- Proven ability to provide clear, concise, and commercially focused legal advice.
- Strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of business principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
