The City of Melville is launching MelSafe, a unified, 24/7 community safety service that brings together Community Safety Officers, Rangers, Parking Officers, and Support Staff under one connected banner. We are seeking a motivated and capable leader to oversee the newly formed MelSafe Operations Support team, which is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our dispatch centre, customer management, technology platforms, and service delivery logistics.
As the Service Lead – MelSafe Operations Support, you’ll lead a high-performing team in delivering responsive, tech-enabled support for frontline officers while driving quality assurance, managing operational technology, and ensuring our systems and services are running smoothly around the clock.
This role is ideal for a motivated leader eager to expand their career while managing a diverse portfolio. You will play a key role in supporting operational teams, overseeing commercial contracts, managing over 30 parking precincts across the City, handling legal proceedings, and enhancing our customer journey.
Location: City of Melville Civic Centre
Salary: $98,166.48 - $112,266.80 pro-rata p.a. + 11.5% Super (with a 5% increase anticipated from 1 July 2025)

What You’ll Be Responsible For
Leading and mentoring the MelSafe Operations Support team, fostering a culture of service excellence and accountability.
Overseeing the dispatch workspace and ensuring efficient coordination of customer requests and internal workflows.
Managing and maintaining core operational technologies, including GPS, CCTV, infringement systems, and mobile parking platforms.
Supporting staff training and onboarding in systems and tools, and ensuring seamless integration across teams.
Handling escalated customer issues and driving continuous improvement in service outcomes.
Collaborating with internal teams to align service delivery, ensure compliance, and drive innovation.
Managing team budgets, supporting operational planning, and overseeing the City’s paid parking infrastructure.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain
Demonstrated experience in service delivery, operations support, or community safety environments
Capable of getting out of the office and trouble-shoot issues to with stakeholders as needed
Strong leadership and people management capabilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience managing customer service systems and operational technologies
Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and quality assurance principles
Ability to analyse and improve processes in a dynamic environment
