Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and stakeholder engagement for a federal Government Department. This is a pivotal role that will work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders and will suit candidates with backgrounds such as Specialist Adviser, Project Manager, Program Support Officer, or Project Support Officer.

The successful candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in project management or public policy. A strong understanding of Australia's development assistance frameworks and international development operations is essential. Applicants must be Australian citizens and obtain an NV1 Security Clearance.

Job Duties:

• Assess the impacts of Official Development Assistance (ODA) graduation on development policy and program operations.
• Develop and manage a comprehensive implementation plan and roadmap for the transition.
• Coordinate multiple workstreams and monitor progress, providing regular updates to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams, overseas offices, and key delivery partners to ensure coordinated progress.
• Conduct stakeholder analysis and develop tailored change management and communication strategies.
• Review and revise all existing funding agreements scheduled beyond January 2026.
• Draft necessary documentation in line with relevant Commonwealth guidelines and procurement policies.
• Scope and develop tailored grant guidelines to support program delivery.
• Coordinate with financial and governance teams to ensure alignment and timely approvals.
• Support the transition of program and financial systems (e.g., SAP, SAP GUI).
• Design and deliver training and capacity-building activities for relevant staff and partners.

To Be Successful, You Will Have:

• Strong project management experience in a government, development, or complex stakeholder environment.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience managing change.
• Demonstrated experience managing contracts, grants, or funding agreements in line with government policy.
• Familiarity with DFAT systems (e.g., AidWorks, SAP, SAP GUI) and transition planning is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs to tight deadlines.
