THE OPPORTUNITY
Salary: $92,375 to $101,744 p.a. pro rata (range dependent upon qualifications and experience) + 11.5% superannuation and annual leave loading.
Time Fraction: Full time, 1.0 EFT. (Part time may be negotiated).
Location: Across all Holmesglen’s campuses.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Fixed term opportunity with a contract of employment until 10/09/2025. Please note, this is a leave cover position.
This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of apprentices by providing dedicated support throughout their training journey. As an Apprentice Liaison Officer, you will work closely with apprentices, employers, and teaching departments to identify those at risk and offer tailored, mentoring-based support to help them stay on track. With a strong on-campus presence and a focus on building genuine connections, you will play a key role in improving retention and driving successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide case management and mentoring support to apprentices identified as needing assistance, promoting engagement and retention.
- Maintain a visible presence in student spaces to raise awareness of the support services offered through Apprentice Central.
- Provide personalised support through referral to internal support services including wellbeing, financial aid, literacy and numeracy, and employment support.
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, advocating for apprentices and supporting their success.
- Support apprentice engagement through events, inductions, and Institute-wide activities, while assisting with fee-related guidance and liaising with Australian Apprentice Network Providers (AANPs).
ABOUT YOU
- Hold a relevant degree and postgraduate qualification or possess a combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Previous demonstrated experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and the apprenticeship environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with apprentices, staff and stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer - focused approach.
- Skilled in administration, with attention to detail and a commitment to high - quality service delivery.
- Adaptable and flexible, thriving in a fast-paced, evolving environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
