Job Opportunity: HSE and Systems Technical Writer (Contract - 3 to 4 Months)
Location: Yatala, QLD
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
Rate: $60 per hour (negotiable)

We are currently sourcing a skilled HSE and Systems Technical Writer for a short-term contract role, supporting the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) documentation for a new, advanced manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be engaged through our agency and based at the Yatala site for the duration of the assignment.

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and refining technical documents including approximately 250 Standard Work Procedures (SWPs), risk assessments, and competency verification tools. The role will involve close collaboration with the team at Yatala as well as coordination with specialists at the Penrith site to ensure all documentation is aligned with operational needs and regulatory standards (including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001).

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, review, and update HSE Standard Operating Procedures and related documents

Develop clear, accurate content for safety protocols and risk assessments

Proofread and edit technical documents to ensure clarity and compliance

Work with engineers, operators, and HSE specialists to gather and incorporate technical data

Qualifications and Experience:

Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS is required

Tertiary qualifications in OHS, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field are highly regarded

Minimum 5 years' experience in a safety role within a manufacturing or industrial setting

Experience working on greenfield or brownfield site safety programs is preferred

Strong familiarity with high-temperature, automated environments is desirable

This is a full-time, contract position based in Yatala for a period of 3 to 4 months
