Embedded Software Engineer

• Develop firmware for real-time embedded systems
• Work across the full product lifecycle – design, development, and support
• Hands-on role with a variety of tasks in an informal environment

We are seeking a Firmware Engineer with strong C programming skills to develop firmware for embedded platforms. You’ll be working on STM32 microcontrollers (or similar), developing real-time software, and interfacing with hardware. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to the full product lifecycle, from design to production to support.

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong proficiency in C programming for embedded systems

Experience with real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS preferred)

Ability to read and understand schematics for hardware design

Experience with STM32 microcontrollers and their development tools (or similar)

Understanding of real-time systems and managing multiple asynchronous events/data streams

Desirable Experience

Familiarity with communication protocols such as USB, I2C, SPI

Exposure to hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)

Basic hardware design and PCB layout experience

Other Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field

Good written and spoken communication skills

Applicants must already be residing in Sydney

Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required

Location & Salary

This is a full-time role based in Surry Hills, Sydney (near Central Station).
A remuneration package of at least $110K will be offered, depending on experience and qualifications.
