About the role

Jardini Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Aquaculture Technician and/or Aquarium fish packer to join our team in Wynnum, Queensland. This is a full-time position that will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our aquaculture facility. As the Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health and well-being of our marine species.

What you'll be doing

Performing routine water quality testing and making necessary adjustments to maintain optimal water parameters

Feeding and caring for a variety of aquatic species, including fish, shellfish and crustaceans

Monitoring the growth and development of aquatic organisms and reporting any health concerns

Organising and managing the processing and packing of aquaculture products

Maintaining accurate records of all aquaculture activities and data

Performing regular equipment maintenance and cleaning to ensure optimal operating conditions

Collaborating with the aquaculture team to identify and implement process improvements

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years of experience working in an aquaculture or aquarium environment is desireable

Strong knowledge of water chemistry, aquatic biology and disease management

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and operating instructions

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of record-keeping

Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment and perform manual tasks

Excellent communication and teamwork skills
