Are you an experienced librarian, excited by new opportunities and interested in supporting students and staff at university? UTS Library is looking for a passionate librarian to join the team in leading education and research services within our Library.
This role is for someone who is client-focused, a big-picture thinker and innovative problem-solver. You should have a library-related degree and be a great communicator, able to work independently and proactively contribute to teams and projects.
This position would suit someone with experience in a library teaching or training others and who is seeking to apply their skills in an academic setting.

About the Team
UTS Library is unlike other libraries you've worked at or might know. We provide vital services for the University community and are at the heart of the UTS experience, fundamental to inspiring a lifetime of learning and research excellence. Librarians in Education and Research Services play a core role in integrating innovative Library services into the student curriculum and supporting university research. Our vibrant team culture aims to deliver distinctive and personalised services to all our clients, including students, staff and the broader community.
About the Role
As a Senior Librarian, you will work closely with a designated school or faculty. You will forge collaborative partnerships with academics and professional staff, building an in-depth understanding of their needs, and actively coordinate the design and implementation of relevant solutions. You will be involved in the strategic planning, development and delivery of training programs aimed at enhancing information literacy skills and the seamless delivery of excellent research support services. This role has no direct reports but has opportunities to lead a team of staff to work on projects, as a stepping stone for someone to build skills to grow into leadership positions.
Key responsibilities
- Engaging with faculty to provide advice on information literacy, copyright, collections and access for new university courses
- Designing workshop programs and resources that teach core information literacy concepts and knowledge, training students in literature searching, referencing and information management skills
- Delivering one-on-one research consultations and individual support to academic staff and postgraduate research students
- Developing and leading projects to innovate library processes and services, aligned to the strategic priorities of the university
Key selection criteria
- A relevant degree qualification granting eligibility for Associate level membership of ALIA with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills enabling effective engagement and partnership building with clients.
- Experience in designing and overseeing innovative information literacy/fluency and/or research support programs
Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $105,814 to $117,057 pa (HEW 7)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
