About the Role:
This is an Identified position in accordance with Section 13(1) of the Public Sector Management Standards 1996 and is only open to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. Canberra Health Services Division of Allied Health provides a range of allied health services including the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Service. A strong emphasis is placed across all sections on accessible and timely care, delivered to a high standard of safety and quality. This is underpinned by the Division's commitment to research and training. The Division works in partnership with professional colleagues, consumers, and a range of government and non-government service providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Service (ALO Service) provides the cultural emotional and wellbeing support to patients and their family. Under the limited supervision of the Director of Allied Health, the Manager, ALO Service will be responsible for day-to-day leadership, planning and service delivery, ensuring Canberra Hospital Aboriginal Liaison Service provides practical, social and wellbeing support, to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people accessing services at Canberra Hospital and University of Canberra Hospital campuses.
The successful applicant will have proven leadership in health services development, project management, and management of human, financial resources. Significant knowledge & skills in contemporary models of health care, clinical governance, quality & safety framework issues and influencing factors in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander healthcare.
This position is required to work flexibly across services, locations and programs.
