Malaysian Fine Foods Pty Ltd T/A PappaRich is looking for a full-time Cook for our store in Melbourne. We specialised in Malaysian cuisine and are the leading Malaysian franchise chain in Australia.

As a cook for PappaRich, you will be responsible for the following:

• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure proper sanitation to meet the regulatory requirements.
• Properly handle knives and use various cutting techniques for fruits and vegetables.
• Preparation of various types of meats such as beef, chicken and fish according to set recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Prepare stocks and sauces for portioning, arranging and garnishing food.
• Control and keep record of temperatures of fridges, freezer and cool room.
• Store food according to temperature and nature of the food.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene of food preparation and serving areas as well.
• Follow HACCP rules in maintaining health and safety procedures in relation to kitchen equipment as well as sanitary food-handling.
• Managing purchase and receiving the delivery of ingredients. Ensure efficient ingredient storage accordingly (labelled and dated for food storage).
• Assist head chef in preparing and cooking foods by using various cooking methods required for Malaysian cuisine such as handling of a wok et cetera, and ensuring they are cooked sufficiently.
• Maintain knowledge of Malaysian food culture and market service and product trends to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Efficient organiser of the workloads, segregating and prioritising the allocated tasks.

Skills needed:

• At least 2 years working experience in a similar position and environment
• Preferably with Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
• Ability to lead by example (role is hands-on)
• Ability to prepare and cook quality meals and undertake all other aspects of food services
