The position involves travel across the Northern Territory—from Alice Springs to Darwin—as well as other regional and interstate sites. You'll work closely with our staff and director.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

Assemble, install, test, repair, and modify specialised electrical and electronic equipment

Assist in the design, layout, and documentation of electrical control systems and installations

Interpret and create technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and CAD models

Fabricate electrical components and build system prototypes, including DC power panels

Calibrate, maintain, and repair electrical instruments and testing devices

Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting, and quality control checks

Visit project sites to assess design conditions and collect field data

Collaborate with suppliers for procurement, PCB layout, and component assembly

Analyse technical data and prepare detailed reports and design recommendations

Ensure all work complies with industry safety standards and regulations

🧠 Skills & Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical engineering or technician roles

A minimum of Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)

Strong understanding of electrical engineering systems

Proficient in interpreting and producing technical drawings and schematics

Hands-on experience with electric motors, generators, lift, and elevator electrical equipment

Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities

Experience in Lift, escalators or industrial diagnostics is highly regarded

Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment

💡 Technical Expertise:

Electrical engineering fault diagnostics

Experience with motors, generators, and lift electrical engineering systems (desirable)

CAD design, instrumentation calibration, and control panel assembly

In-depth knowledge of safety compliance and industry standards
