As part of this expansion, we are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to drive and support the overall Engineering Team in the successful delivery of projects for AGITO automation solutions in either Sydney or Perth, reporting directly to the Automation & Controls Manager.

Who Are You
You are someone who wants to be at the forefront of leading the delivery of design, development and implementation of automation and technology projects.
Your Key Attributes
Established experience in the manufacturing area of industrial conveyors, elevating platforms or other industrial material handling and automation solutions
Proven experience with centralised and decentralised motor control systems
Experience in hardwired systems, remote I/O, and industrial networks (e.g. Profinet, Profibus, ASi)
Experience managing electrical budgets, procurement, and vendor engagement
Experience integrating 3rd party OEM electrical systems into large-scale solutions
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, including performance reviews, mentoring, and skills development
Must have a demonstrated and strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 4024.1
Must have the ability to understand and review technical designs
Competent in problem solving, team building and decision making
Strong familiarity with electrical installation methods and practices
Strong verbal & written communication skills (English)
The ability to develop strong and trusted relationships
The ability to listen keenly and interpret the Project Managers needs
Strong organisation skills and the ability to drive and mentor others
The ability to be self-motivated and can work autonomously
Excellent time management skills and can prioritise competing demands

Purpose of the Role
This role would suit a motivated and dynamic Senior Electrical Engineer, who enjoys leading our Electrical Design Team to create industry-leading solutions for our customers. The role requires strong technical proficiency in designing and delivering large, complex electrical systems in the Food & Beverage, Intralogistics, and Parcel & Post industries. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the architecture design, hardware selection, generation of diagrams/schematics, and installation details for these systems, while delivering to a high standard and ensuring compliance with Australian standards.
This includes:
Ability to lead & mentor a team
Coordinate activities with the rest of the business
Communicate with external & internal stakeholders
Design of Electrical Systems
Preparation of Bill of Materials
Management of associated timelines
Preparation of manufacturing and installation details
Planning of electrical and controls installations
Preparation of validation & test documentation
Thorough understanding of relevant Australian Standards
Occasional interstate travel as required
This is primarily an inward facing role:
Inwardly
Consulting closely with the Engineering Design team, Controls Engineers, Project Managers, Site Managers, and the manufacturing team during the design, manufacture, and installation phases of the project
Outwardly
Consulting with our partners and suppliers
Site implementation support (mostly remote)
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Work closely with designers and project managers:
Take ownership of electrical calculations, hardware selection (including but not limited to - circuit protection, cabling, and I/O systems), and detailed component specifications
Coordinate with manufacturing teams regarding the build and QA of control cabinets, distribution boards, junction boxes, control stations, and custom electrical panels
Ensure all designs comply with AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 4024, and relevant safety and regulatory standards
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including our local partners, designers, and project managers to translate project requirements into detailed electrical designs for automation solutions
Critical design analysis
Design and amend drawings when required
Oversee subordinate resources concerning adherence to electrical design systems and processes
Manage or conduct internal Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of electrical panels manufactured either internally or by 3rd party suppliers
Working closely with the Automation & Controls Manager and Controls Engineers:
Lead the development and continuous improvement of electrical engineering standards, design tools, and reusable architectures to improve cost competitiveness, efficiency, reduce errors, and increase design quality
Lead or support the implementation and/or migration to EPLAN as a design tool and integrate with existing and new design workflows
Monitor:
Provide oversight and performance management of subordinate engineers and design staff, ensuring work output is of high quality and aligned with project objectives
Designs for each project
The development process, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards that may arise
Quality of work output by the electrical engineering and drafting department
Reporting:
Provide regular updates to project stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and proposed solutions to ensure alignment with project objectives
Manage electrical engineering budgets, resourcing, and delivery schedules across multiple concurrent projects
Design queries and resolution
Update of internal documentation
Daily electrical design follow-up
Your Skills
The successful candidate will:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrician Trade Certificate (must be recognised in Australia)
Sound knowledge of requirements of AS3000 and AS4024.1
Exposure to Automation & Materials Handling Systems
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical is essential
Proficiency with EPLAN is ideal
Experience with EPLAN implementation/migrations would be advantageous
Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Visio, Word)
Ability to work as part of a team in a projects-based environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team
