About us:
Rockhampton Hospital is the main referral hospital in Central Queensland. The Maternity Service at the Rockhampton Hospital is the main birthing hub for Central Queensland and caters for approximately 1400 births annually.
It provides a level 4 maternity service: The Antenatal Clinic offers outpatient antenatal care and education; the Antenatal/Postnatal 15 bed ward offers inpatient care and maternity assessment unit; the 5 bed Birth Suite offers care during birth and high dependency care; and the level 4 Special Care Nursery offers medium to high dependency care to neonates.
There is a strong focus on interdisciplinary care planning and networking with community agencies. The midwifery group practice provides care for women with in an all risk model of continuity.
About the role:
- Work collaboratively with the Midwifery Manager to monitor, maintain and build workforce capacity.
- Support the Midwifery Manager in the management of human, financial and material resources, including the application of the Business Planning Framework and Nurses and Midwives Award and Enterprise Bargaining Agreement provisions.
- Integrate and translate the principles of safe and individualised quality midwifery care (social, cultural, physical, emotional, contextual, and psychological) for the midwifery team.
- Participate in activities based on contemporary data to support workforce planning and management decision making.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture including demonstrating self-awareness and reflection and acting in accordance with professional codes and standards.
About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
- While not mandatory, a relevant qualification post graduate qualification would be well regarded.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $6,072 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate of $61.20 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
