Auto Electrician & Plant Mobile Mechanic – Full-Time Roles Available

H People are currently recruiting for two experienced and qualified tradespeople to join a well-established and growing team based in Altona. These are full-time, permanent positions offering excellent rates and secure ongoing work.

🔧 Position 1: Auto Electrician

$55–$60 per hour + overtime

As the onsite Auto Electrician, you will play a key role in supporting operations involving specialist trucks with complex pump attachments and systems.

Key responsibilities:

• Interfacing and integrating control units
• Designing and modifying electrical systems to meet operational requirements
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults
• Collaborating with mechanical and hydraulic teams

To be successful, you will have:

• A recognised Auto Electrical trade qualification
• Experience working with heavy vehicles or mobile plant equipment
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and troubleshoot advanced systems
• Strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems

🛠️ Position 2: Plant Mobile Mechanic

$52–$57 per hour + overtime

In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and servicing heavy mobile plant trucks used in industrial operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Routine servicing and mechanical inspections
• Fault diagnosis and repair across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Field service and workshop-based work
• Accurate maintenance and repair documentation

We’re looking for candidates with:

• Relevant trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or Mobile Plant Technician
• Strong background in hydraulics, electrics, and heavy vehicle mechanics
• Prior experience working on complex plant or heavy equipment
• A proactive, safety-first mindset
