Walz are currently seeking Blaster Painters and Labourers to join our crews for site shutdowns and local work in the Gladstone workshop.

About the Job:

· Mobilise and demobilise blasting hoppers/spray pumps and encapsulations

· Abrasive blast, ranging from a whip class SA 3 on ferrous and nonferrous substrates using both garnet and steel abrasives

· Brush/Roll stripe coats as required.

· Using mainly airless spray, apply up to 3 coats systems required DFT's/specifications

· Application of: Inorganic zinc's, Epoxy zinc's, High build epoxies, Antifouls and Acrylic polyurethanes.

· Remediate areas marked up by quality inspectors to meet the requirements of clients' specification.

· Keep a safe and tidy work area and product storage

· Perform other general duties if required

About You:

Experience working in a mining environment in a similar position

Strong safety standards

Problem solving and decision-making skills

Great communication and interpersonal skills

Painting experience (house painting or automotive)

Confined Spaces

Gas Test Atmosphere

Working at heights

Forklift Licence (desirable)

Able to work safely and comply with all site policies and procedures.

Live in Gladstone or the surrounding area
