BASKETBALL COACH NEEDED!!!

STEP UP BASKETBALL ACADEMY is opening new training sessions in Truganina, Point Cook, Manor Lakes and Tarneit and we are looking for enthusiastic and responsible coaches able to share their experience.

Trainings will run from Monday to Thursday evenings, so you have plenty of room to keep your day job or studies but still get paid for building your career as basketball coach.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

You will need no less than 3 years experience in looking after a group of 6 to 8 kids that could be on age range 5 – 15yo. You need to be able to teach basketball fundamentals, run with fun basketball activities and be willing to make the trainings fun and engaging.

SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING (but not limited to):

Teaching Fundamentals: Instructing young players on the basics of basketball, including dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive skills.

Game Strategy: Introducing basic game strategies and tactics suitable for their age group.

Skill Assessment: Evaluating players' progress and providing constructive feedback to help them improve.

Role Model: Serving as a positive role model for young athletes, demonstrating good sportsmanship and ethical behavior. Remember, coaching kids requires patience, enthusiasm, and adaptability to cater to various age groups and skill levels within the 5 to 15-year-old range.

Create a Safe Environment: Foster a non-judgmental and inclusive atmosphere where it's okay to make mistakes. Encourage them to ask questions and express themselves without fear of criticism.

Build Trust: Establish a trusting and supportive coach-player relationship. Shy kids may be hesitant to participate, so they need to feel comfortable around you.

Equipment Management: Overseeing the care and maintenance of basketball equipment.
