Whitsunday Funerals is a family Owned & run funeral home and we are seeking a Funeral Service All Rounder to join our team.

As a Funeral Director at Whitsunday Funerals, you'll play a vital role in providing compassionate and professional care to families during their most difficult times. Based in the beautiful Whitsundays & Mackay region of Queensland, this full-time position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in your local community.

What you'll be doing

Coordinating all aspects of funeral arrangements, from first contact with the family to final disposition

Providing empathetic support and guidance to grieving families

Preparing and presenting the deceased with the utmost care and respect

Liaising with celebrants, cemeteries, and other relevant parties to ensure seamless funeral services

Maintaining meticulous records and adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements

Assisting with the administration and logistics of the funeral home

Contributing to the development and implementation of the company's policies and procedures

This role includes after hours on call on a rostered system.

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Funeral Director or in a similar role, this is not essential, but preferred.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to offer compassionate support to families

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

A deep understanding of the cultural, religious, and legal aspects of funeral service

Proficiency in using relevant software and technology

A genuine commitment to providing high-quality care and service

Holds a current open driver’s licence

Is physically fit and comfortable with lifting duties

Works well in a team and independently

Is comfortable with after-hours work on a rotating basis
