Armidale Day Surgery is a brand new, state-of-the-art facility providing high-quality surgical care in a supportive and innovative environment. We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our team on a casual basis.

About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse in Theatre & Recovery, you will be responsible for the post-operative care of patients, monitoring their recovery from anaesthesia, managing pain, other post-operative needs and ensuring a smooth transition to discharge. You will work as part of a collaborative and professional clinical team, committed to patient safety and high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide post-operative nursing care in accordance with NSW Health standards and guidelines

Monitor and assess patients during their recovery from anaesthesia

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed

Maintain accurate clinical documentation

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team

Essential Criteria:

Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)

Demonstrated recent experience in recovery or acute surgical nursing

Up-to-date immunisation status in line with NSW Health policies, including COVID-19 and influenza

Sound clinical judgement and ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and continuous quality improvement

Desirable:

Postgraduate qualifications in Perioperative Nursing or relevant specialty

Previous experience in day surgery or private hospital setting
