The Department:
This large, central government agency plays a key role in shaping Australia's economic and policy landscape. The work is broad and impactful, supporting national priorities through strategic advice, regulatory oversight, and program delivery. The Communications Branch leads internal and external engagement, creative development, and branding – ensuring clarity, consistency and connection across all channels.

The role:
We’re looking for a creative, technically skilled Graphic Designer to join a collaborative in-house creative services team, delivering high-impact content across digital, social and print channels.
In this role you’ll lead a variety of design projects that support internal and external communications. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to interpret briefs and create compelling graphics, publications, animations, digital signage, and web content.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to design solutions that reflect the branding and strategic priorities of a high-profile government department.
What you’ll do:

• Deliver end-to-end design across digital and print products, including infographics, social media, signage and publications.
• Liaise directly with business areas, executives and external suppliers to develop creative solutions.
• Ensure outputs meet accessibility, branding and quality standards.
• Support brand consistency and contribute to best practice design processes.
• Offer expert advice on creative concepts and participate in project planning meetings.

What we’re looking for:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or 5+ years of experience in professional graphic design.
• Proven experience designing for government or large organisations – highly desirable
• Strong skills across Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in branding, digital content design, and ideally video and animation.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
