GPH employs over 400 staff including many qualified health and other professionals including peer workers and community workers. GPH operations cover a large regional geographical footprint in NSW and ACT. About the position The Mental Health Clinician – Renewable Energy Zones provides a welcoming and supportive first point of contact for eligible landholders whose mental health may be impacted by renewable energy infrastructure projects in NSW.

The Mental Health Clinician will conduct mental health assessments and intake processes for people accessing the program. They will then provide care coordination, assertive monitoring and support for the individual to access appropriate mental health supports. We have a full time opportunity available, fixed term until 30 March 2028. This position is can be worked remotely from anywhere in NSW. We are looking for someone with:

1. Current AHPRA registration as an Aboriginal Health Worker, Psychologist or Provisionally registered Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist (accredited with OTA as meeting the Australian Competency Standards for Occupational Therapists in mental health) or accreditation with the AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker (or eligible to work towards).
2. Demonstrated experience in undertaking comprehensive mental health assessments and development of care plans in collaboration with consumers and their family and carers, and assistance to access necessary services.
3. Demonstrated skills and experience in providing holistic, evidence-based therapeutic services
4. Demonstrated understanding of the issues relevant to people living in rural and remote NSW including impacts on mental health, and experience working with individuals impacted by rural adversity in navigating pathways to care.
