We are excited to announce a new opportunity to join our team as a Workplace Health and Safety Officer. Reporting to the Workforce Governance and Safety Manager, this role focuses on developing, implementing, and monitoring systems to ensure compliance with WHS and Environmental Legislation. If you are a seasoned WHS specialist with experience in this field, we welcome you to apply.
This is a permanent full-time role based in our Coolangatta office.
Here's what a typical day might look like for you:
- Develop and publish policies and procedures explaining the management approach to WHS and monitor compliance with these policies.
- Provide input into Organisational Policy and procedures from a WHS perspective and ensure consistency between WHS requirements and broader company policies.
- Ensure mechanisms are provided for effective WHS consultation with all workers.
- Monitor WHS performance including compliance with external regulations and standards and internal policy and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the RTW Coordinator and People Experience team in relation to accident/incident trends/themes to identify root causes and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Work in partnership with business leaders to ensure they are compliant with WHS legislation and Return to Work performance standards.
- Provide advice, assistance, and an expert consultancy service on all aspects of work health and safety matters.
About YOU:
- Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety or Graduate Diploma in WHS or equivalent
- Manual Handling qualification/assessor/trainer certificate or higher
- Proven experience in WHS Officer role.
- Aged Care or Health care experience highly desirable.
- Experience in multiple Internal/External Stakeholder management
- The ability to provide training on relevant OH&S and environmental issues for plant and office personnel.
