Are you an experienced professional in road infrastructure management, with a passion for maintaining and improving local roads?

We are currently seeking a dedicated Roads Coordinator to join our Assets and Infrastructure Services team at Kyogle Council.

In this critical role, you will work closely with the Manager Infrastructure Services to plan, manage, and deliver road maintenance, capital renewals projects, and strategic road network planning. Your contributions will ensure that Kyogle's road systems remain safe, efficient, and well-maintained, benefiting our entire community.

šŸ—ļø What You’ll Be Doing:

Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure Services, the Roads Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the maintenance, planning, and improvement of Kyogle’s road network. You will:

Ā· Coordinate road maintenance, renewals and improvement works on State, Regional and local roads. You will directly manage the planning, delivery, and administration of works under the RMCC contract for delivery of road work on classified roads on behalf of Transport for NSW.

Ā· Manage Contracts: Prepare tenders and manage contracts for road works, ensuring compliance with all legislative and Council standards.

Ā· Asset Management: Develop and implement asset management strategies for road infrastructure, including monitoring condition assessments and long-term maintenance needs.

Ā· Liaise with Stakeholders: Work closely with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure the smooth delivery of road projects.

Ā· Grant Management: Identify, apply for, and manage external funding opportunities for road infrastructure projects.

Ā· Road Safety & Compliance: Ensure roads are maintained to a high standard, addressing any safety concerns and ensuring compliance with relevant road safety legislation and regulations.

Ā· Reporting & Documentation: Provide technical reports, manage documentation, and ensure that road works are compliant with planning and environmental standards.

šŸ‘„ About You:

You are a proactive, results-driven professional with a strong background in road infrastructure, contracts administration and project management. Your leadership and technical expertise will help ensure the delivery of high-quality road services for the Kyogle community. You will have:

Ā· A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Ā· Experience in road infrastructure management, including the planning and coordination of maintenance, renewals and capital works projects.

Ā· Strong project management and contract management experience.

Ā· A solid understanding of NSW local government legislation relevant to road management, road safety, and asset management.

Ā· Proven ability to supervise contractors, work with internal teams, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ā· Experience in preparing technical reports, contract documentation, and specifications.

Ā· Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders, contractors, and the community.

Ā· A current Class C driver’s licence.

Ā· Experience in leading a small team will be highly regarded for Grade 9 roles.
