About the role
As a Biosecurity Inspector (Detector Dogs), you will be responsible for handling detector dogs in varying operational environments to detect and prevent biosecurity risks to Tasmania.
The successful applicant will be 7-day shift worker and working to an approved roster.
- Undertake and report on biosecurity surveillance, control, and eradication activities.
- You will learn basic kennel husbandry as the Detector dogs are housed in a kennel facility.
- Ensure the health and welfare of dogs owned by the Department.
- Provide relevant information to and liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Investigate suspected non-compliance and undertake conduct of enforcement activities.
Interstate travel may be required.
