The position:

We are seeking a proactive and motivated Control & Communications Systems Field Technologist to join our team in a residential-based position in Kalgoorlie. This is a residential role based in Kalgoorlie - The successful candidate must either currently reside in Kalgoorlie or be willing to relocate. For those relocating, a relocation package will be discussed during the interview process.

About the Role:

In this hands-on field-based role, you will be responsible for:

Supporting field operations across control and communications systems

Installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment

Collaborating closely with technical teams and operational staff to ensure reliable system performance

This position is ideally suited to someone with a background in electrical or instrumentation trades and a strong desire to develop their skills in control systems technology.

Ideal Candidate:

Electrical or instrumentation qualifications/experience

Keen interest in learning and growing within control systems and communications

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and within a team in a field environment

Commitment to safety and operational excellence

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting communication and control systems

Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting audio-visual, security, and CCTV systems

Providing leadership and assistance to subordinates in the field

Collaborating with technical teams to ensure systems are operating reliably and efficiently

To be suitable for this position you require the following:

Current WA Drivers Licence (essential).

Current National Police Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Australian Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Certificate 3 or 4 in equivalent field

ACMA open cabling licence (Pref with endorsements)

Senior First Aid

Be agile, have good hand-eye coordination and should be comfortable using power tools

Able to work with confidence under limited supervision and provide detailed reports

Be able to work under pressure, especially in emergency situations

Know and understand about wireless equipment, network protocols and documentation

Know about computers, telephone and cable equipment, network protocols and documentation

Must have knowledge of all the technical details of how the equipment functions

Must be familiar with electronics, digital radio technology, and cellular systems.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a technician
