At Finncare, we’re redefining wellness for older adults. Our newly established on-site Wellness Gym is more than just a space for movement – it’s a sanctuary of strength, connection, and dignity for our residential aged care residents, independent living (villa) residents, and community members.

We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated and forward-thinking Occupational Therapist to lead and operationalise this innovative new service.

You’ll work closely with our clinical and lifestyle teams to design and deliver tailored programs that promote safe, functional movement and holistic health for older adults of all abilities. You’ll be the heart of the gym – assessing individual capacity, managing risk, and encouraging participation – all while helping our residents maintain independence, mobility, and joy in daily life.

✨ What You’ll Be Doing

Conduct individual functional assessments and develop client-specific plans for safe gym engagement.

Supervise and support older adults to safely and confidently use gym equipment, with a strong focus on function, mobility, falls prevention, and overall wellbeing.

Collaborate with nursing, allied health, and lifestyle staff to integrate gym-based programs into broader care and wellness planning.

Monitor progress, adjust programs, and provide timely documentation aligned with clinical best practices and aged care standards.

Champion a culture of empowerment, safety, and inclusion in the gym setting.

Contribute to the growth of a cutting-edge wellness program tailored to the needs of an ageing population.

👩‍⚕️ Who You Are

AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapist with demonstrated interest or experience in aged care, community health, or rehabilitation.

Skilled in functional assessment, mobility support, equipment prescription, and safe ageing principles.

Confident working autonomously and collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams.

Passionate about promoting independence, dignity, and wellness through creative, evidence-based interventions.

A respectful communicator with a warm, engaging approach to client-centred care.
