Position Type: Part-time (minimum 4 days per week) to Full-time
Application Deadline: Friday, 30 May 2025
Job Description:
Calling All Dedicated and Experienced Family Lawyers!
We’re excited to invite YOU to join our dynamic team. As a boutique and agile firm, we pride ourselves on offering flexibility to the right candidate. We believe in customizing roles to align with individual strengths and career goals—provided they also resonate with our firm’s values and vision. For example:
If you're seeking a role where you can do meaningful legal work within a supportive, enjoyable team environment—while maintaining clear boundaries between work and personal life—this could be the perfect fit for you. This position could involve focusing exclusively on legal files, with a commitment of at least 4 days per week.
Alternatively, if you're looking to take on additional responsibilities beyond legal files—such as building your professional reputation through networking, marketing, and business development—this role offers that potential with full-time hours and the support of Martens Legal. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to grow their career and also to contribute to our firm’s success.
If you’re looking for a role where you can do meaningful work, be part of a friendly team, and grow your career on your own terms but with our full support, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and work on family law legal files, including advising clients and preparing legal documents
Represent clients in family law negotiations, mediations and court proceedings
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of family law legislation and best practices
Provide empathetic, caring, and client-focused legal services
Collaborate, mentor and delegate effectively with team members to ensure seamless service delivery
Utilize technology efficiently to manage matters and communicate with clients and the team
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years post-admission experience (PAE) or equivalent experience such as working in a family law firm in a paralegal capacity while studying
Strong passion for family law
Proficiency with legal technology. Proven experience with systems such as Smokeball and Asana would be ideal
A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrates qualities of efficiency, innovation and an empathetic, approachable style in both client and team interactions
We Offer:
Flexible work arrangements, including work-from-home options
Supportive team environment, with a hardworking and (mostly) enjoyable atmosphere – let’s be real - not every day is perfect!
Opportunities for professional growth and mentoring
How To Apply:
If you are passionate about family law and the above aligns with you, we encourage you to apply by submitting your CV and cover letter to [email protected] before the deadline.
Questions:
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Tegan directly via email or (07) 3175 1441 for a confidential chat.
