The Role
Centrecare is offering a flexible opportunity for an experienced Financial Counsellor to join our team to choose a base location that suits your lifestyle and career goals.
- $10,500 Zone Allowance pre annuum in addition to salary
- Accommodation support of $300 per week for the first 12 weeks
- Perth based with occasional travel between four to six weekly visits to Kalgoorlie to support remote clients, or
- Kalgoorlie based full time - enjoy a vibrant regional lifestyle and receive:
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver casework support and financial counselling services (in person and remotely).
- Assess and evaluate clients’ financial circumstances to identify practical solutions.
- Advocate on behalf of clients and negotiate with creditors as required.
- Provide community education and financial literacy support.
- Maintain accurate and compliant case records.
- Engage in occasional travel to meet clients and deliver outreach (if Perth-based).
Selection Criteria
- Diploma of Financial Counselling or equivalent qualification.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with the Financial Counsellors Association of WA.
- At least 2 years’ experience in financial counselling, preferably including remote/rural contexts.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a remote caseload.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Current National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
