Job description: We are seeking new Graduate Oral Health Therapists for our 2025 Graduate Program. Join our vibrant team and help enhance the health of our community.

Oral Health Services Tasmania (OHST) is keen to welcome you to our team. We are a close-knit group of oral health professionals, a mixture of locals and new Tasmanian adventurers. We work across major centres and community dental clinics, providing contemporary, evidence-informed practise.

We are dedicated to the development of our people and will work to help you achieve your goals. As a new graduate, you will have the time to hone your clinical skills, reflect, learn, and grow with support from our experienced team of clinicians, dental assistants, customer service officers and managers. Our structured program includes mentorship, hands-on workshops, virtual learning sessions and case discussions.

The Role:

Graduate Oral Health Therapist Positions are designed for individuals who have successfully completed a Bachelor of Oral Health (or equivalent) within the past year.

The role focuses on improving the health of Tasmanians by:

  • Providing a high standard of oral health care to children and young adults;
  • Delivering health education, health promotion and preventative outreach programs across the State; and
  • Supporting individuals and communities to increase control over their oral health.

Details of Appointment:

Permanent full-time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight commencing Monday 18th August 2025.

Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 pro rata per annum + 11.5% superannuation (Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Agreement 2024)

Recreation Leave: Employees are entitled to four (4) weeks paid recreation leave per leave year for full-time staff.

  • Structured education program with over 30 hours of free CPD including hands-on workshops across the year and in different locations across the State

Allied Health Scholarship Program

If you are expecting to graduate in 2025, you will be offered an Allied Health Scholarship. The Allied Health Scholarship Program provides up to $25,000 to support the costs of studying.

Scholarship recipients will receive $15,000 in Year 1 of the Program (2025) and a further $10,000 in Year 4 of the Program, following completion of three years’ service with the Tasmanian Health Service (2028).

Scholarship recipients must accept an offer of permanent employment with the Tasmanian Health Service and sign a Scholarship Agreement. Please refer to the Allied Health Scholarship Program Guidelines for more information and complete the Expression of Interest Form.

Eligibility Criteria
  1. Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Dental Board of Australia
  2. Registered with the Dental Board of Australia
  3. Current Working with Children Registration
